Airline Fares & Miles Database

What is EconoMile?

EconoMile is a database of airline fares and miles/points data. Compare fare ranges across multiple airlines at a glance, and calculate miles and points earning efficiency.

Compare Fares Across Airlines

"Is JAL or ANA cheaper to New York?" "What's the market rate for Business Class?" — we help answer these questions. Based on historical fare data, compare fares across airlines, routes, and cabin classes (Economy, Premium Economy, Business, etc.). Fares for the same route can differ by hundreds or thousands of dollars between airlines. Currently supporting JAL, ANA, Turkish Airlines, United, British Airways, and more — with additional airlines coming soon.

Benefits of Earning Miles

Miles (award miles) earned from flights can be redeemed for award tickets. Use your miles to fly domestic or international routes for free, or upgrade your cabin class. Miles can also be used for partner hotels and car rentals, making your entire trip more rewarding. EconoMile shows miles earned by booking class, helping you find the most efficient routes for earning miles.

Benefits of Earning Status Points

In addition to miles, earning "status points" qualifies you for elite membership with airlines. For example, earn FLY ON Points with JAL to become a Sapphire member, or Premium Points with ANA to reach Platinum status. Elite members enjoy benefits like airport lounge access, priority boarding, priority baggage handling, and cabin upgrades. When you achieve elite status with JAL or ANA, you also receive oneworld or Star Alliance elite status, giving you lounge access and priority benefits on partner airlines worldwide. EconoMile calculates points earned by booking class and cost efficiency (cost per point), helping you plan efficient "mileage runs" to achieve status.

Crediting to Partner Programs

Airlines worldwide form alliances like Star Alliance and oneworld. Within the same alliance, you can credit flights to a different airline's loyalty program. For example, fly ANA (Star Alliance) and credit PQP to United MileagePlus. Fly JAL (oneworld) and credit Tier Points to British Airways Executive Club. The most efficient program to credit depends on the route and booking class. EconoMile compares earning efficiency across both home airline and partner programs, helping you find the best option for your needs.

FAQ

EconoMile is a free flight comparison tool that shows fare ranges across airlines and calculates status points and miles earning efficiency for each route.

Airlines award status points like FOP (JAL), PP (ANA), PQP (United), and Tier Points (BA) based on flights. Accumulating enough points qualifies you for elite membership with benefits like lounge access and priority boarding.

Some airlines use distance-based calculation (route distance times a booking class rate), while others use price-based calculation (fare times a rate). EconoMile shows the exact calculation for each booking class.

EconoMile supports JAL, ANA, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, United, Singapore Airlines, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Lufthansa.
